A BUG in the MUD!

Kennedy (AKA Kenny Bug) couldn’t wait to get her swimming pool out and fill it up! It’s a classic preformed baby pool…too small for her really, but she likes it. It actually hangs on a nail in the back of our garage and acts as a bumper for my car so I know when my huge car is all the way in. If it wasn’t so handy I would have thrown it out years ago!

Well the pool was pretty fun for about a half hour. Then I see her putting on her rain boots and I wasn’t sure why until I went outside to see…

I had to grab my camera because as much as I wanted to tell her no, (and to avoid a mess) I had to capture the moment because this is the true beauty of childhood!

How sweet is my BUG??

(Can’t wait for my mom to see what happened to this Kate Mack bathing suit she bought her for Christmas…from Kids Klothesline…grrrrrr)

Before & After Family session…

Here’s a first for me…taking pictures in the same place as another session to show before & after moments! I LOVE this idea!! I also love this family. I’ve known them for years. I’m so blessed that we are great friends after so many years and that they allow me to take their family portraits! This couple has gone through so much to have this little guy and the love they have for him is truly incredible! He’s lucky, they’re lucky, I’m lucky…what more can I say??

I always feel very honored when I am asked to take pictures for family events. These pictures will be looked at and remembered for years to come, they are so important! They document the moment… a moment that only happens once! This is one reason why I love what I do!!!

Ironically, I was asked to do two different Baptisms last weekend! It’s such a beautiful thing to see the love that comes with a new baby and how devoted these families are to bringing a new member into their faith. It’s all about LOVE!!

I loved this session! The light was amazing this evening and I had the perfect model who didn’t mind going to some dirty places! I love the look of clean & beautiful against rustic & dirty. Thankfully she was excited about the idea too!

Typically, I wait to see what my clients do naturally before I give them direction. I hardly had to say a word to her…she just knew what to do…a complete NATURAL!! She can sing, act & dance too…watch out world!!!

Chateau de Chenonceau….

Chenonceau Castle is a 16th Century French castle built over the River Cher. This is truly one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been! Beauty everywhere!!! They say Paris is romantic but I thought this place was oozing with romance! Just gorgeous!! Most of these pictures are self explanatory, except the kitchen stuff… I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the groupings! So I threw a few randoms in there!! I have ~~too many~~ a lot more pictures that show the kitchen. It was super cool!! I’ll post & link some pics to Instaproof where you can see more!

Chenonceaux France…

I’m finally getting around to editing and organizing the pictures from my trip to Europe last October!!

This is the village of Chenonceaux! It was the first place we went to in France. It’s located 16miles east of Tours, in the Loire Valley. Population 300. Chateau de Chenonceau is located right outside this tiny village. We stayed at a bed & breakfast with plans to tour the 16th century castle.

All I can say it that it was unbelievably quaint…a little too slow paced for me, but I enjoyed it immensely!

The Ginko tree is by far one of my absolute favorites trees and we just happened to have this beauty in our backyard! Whenever I need to go to my “happy place”, I think of this tree!!

Our Easter Weekend!!

The kids and I had a great Easter weekend! We are always doing fun things and I rarely bring my good camera to capture what we do. The iphone usually takes care of those “OMG I have to take a picture” moments! So, with the purpose of scrapbooking our Easter, I brought the whole camera bag and took pictures the whole time!! The weather has been so great here, it’s almost too good to be true! Last year our spring was so rainy and cold. Great days for picture taking were few and far in between. This year…everyday’s a great day!!! {Just about} Blue sky’s are the best, they make the best backdrops. I was fortunate enough to have one for this shoot….HAPPY DAYS!

I scoped out this spot several weeks ago….I shopped and borrowed to get the perfect props for this look and BAAAAMM….a client with a little boy books a min session! I had a vivid mental picture for this shoot and I was soooo HAPPY to have this perfect little man be the subject of my vision! He was awesome…ALL SMILES and the perfect amount of BOYISHNESS!!!!!

Creating Art!!!

Magazine style photo sessions are my new thing this spring!! Now that I’ve mastered the basics, I’m going back to my roots. MY LOVE OF ART!! I don’t want to be JUST a photographer…I want to be an artist! An artist who creates photographs that speak to you. I want to create a photograph that you look at and think, “WOW, I love that picture…then deep sigh”! It takes a bit more time and consideration than meeting at the park with my camera…don’t get me wrong, I love to do this. But, what I really want to do is customize beautiful wall pieces for your home. The subjects of these pieces will be none other than your children!
